JOHN TOKI |
|
John
Toki
is an artist well known for his pedagogical work in the United
States, Europe and Asia. He is the author of notable texts on clay as well.
He has executed many monumental commissions including works for
the City of Berkeley and The Oakland Museum. In
“Blue Stance” we have a monumental sculpture that presents a dynamic
balance between the boldness of its form and the delicacy of its detail.
The tracery of porcelain and color intrigue with the suggestion
of hidden splendor as if the piece might hold the secret treasures of a
geode. |
